Emerging Ensemble

Max Taylor

Neuroqueer artist exploring time, theatre, and unique storytelling.

Max (they/them) is the newest member of the Rollercoaster ensemble, joining in 2025. A passionate performer and creative thinker, they bring a love for critical neurodiversity, devised theatre, and unconventional storytelling. Max will make their Rollercoaster debut in Tea Party! at the Melbourne Comedy Festival as a VIP guest of BAM Arts.

Max first connected with Rollercoaster as an audience member at Tea Party!'s Melbourne Fringe season—a performance that resonated deeply:

“I knew the conceit of the show was to give neurotypical people the experience of being neurodivergent in society, but when I sat at the table, I felt like I was coming home.”

Now part of the Emerging Ensemble, Max brings curiosity, insight, and a love of theatre to the company.

Acknowledgement of Country

As storytellers, we acknowledge the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung peoples of the Kulin Nation, the traditional owners of the land we gather on. We’re grateful to create on this land, knowing storytelling has been part of its history for thousands of years. It has held cultures and communities long before us, and we honour the strength, wisdom, and resilience of Elders who continue to care for it today. We recognise the impact of colonisation and the absence of a treaty, and we commit to amplifying the voices of First Nations peoples and working towards truth, justice, and reconciliation. Always was, always will be Aboriginal land.
