Tea Party!

Step into a world where tradition and etiquette are turned upside down. In Tea Party!, the Rollercoaster Theatre ensemble guides you through a comedic, immersive experience that challenges social norms and unspoken expectations.

Savour the absurd with a side of laughter as the actors serve up piping hot tea... and sometimes spill it. Whether you choose to become part of the Tea Party or watch the hilarity unfold from a distance, this performance will leave you questioning what it means to ‘fit in’ or follow the rules.

Tea Party! shines a light on the ridiculousness of social conventions, inviting audiences to confront their preconceived notions about how interactions should unfold. With physical theatre and clowning techniques, this bold, visually striking performance transforms a simple tea ritual into an experience that has to be seen to be believed.

, Tea Party! is an invitation to laugh, reflect, and embrace the unpredictable. Check out the video below to see the magic unfold.

Acknowledgement of Country

As storytellers, we acknowledge the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung peoples of the Kulin Nation, the traditional owners of the land we gather on. We’re grateful to create on this land, knowing storytelling has been part of its history for thousands of years. It has held cultures and communities long before us, and we honour the strength, wisdom, and resilience of Elders who continue to care for it today. We recognise the impact of colonisation and the absence of a treaty, and we commit to amplifying the voices of First Nations peoples and working towards truth, justice, and reconciliation. Always was, always will be Aboriginal land.
